AN EVALUATION ON NOT ARRANGING THE VERSUS IN THE ORDER OF REVELATION

Since the Qur'an is the last divine law of Allah, it attracts the attention of Muslims and even all people with all its aspects. In every period, many studies on every aspect of the Qur'an have been made and continue to be done. Studies were also carried out on the revelation of the Qur'an, the reason for its revelation, the arrangement of the surahs and verses. However, not much work has been done on the reasons and wisdom of the verses not being arranged in the order of their revelation. Our research is to draw attention to the difference between the order at the time of the revelation and the order available in the Mushafs today, and to address the reasons for this. The Qur’an was sent down in two ways. The first was in the form of Allah’s direct download of verses and suras without any reason. The second one covers the verses and surahs that were revealed due to a certain event, subject and reason. The arrangement of the verses and suras in the process of the Qur’an’s revelation and the arrangement and arrangement in the Qur’an used today are different from each other. Since the verses were ordered by the Prophet (pbuh) differently from the time they were revealed, its withholding is accepted and it is not permissible to change the place of any verse. Reasons such as the Qur’an being revealed gradually, its spread over a long period of time, and the existence of different times, places and reasons caused the Qur’an to be revealed in a different way than it is today. Although there are surahs that were revealed at once, there are also surahs that were not revealed in one go from beginning to end. When the verses were revealed separately from the surahs, the Prophet (pbuh) arranged where and in which surah they should be left, with the revelation he received from Gabriel (a.s.). There is a lot of evidence that the verses are not arranged in the order of their revelation. Many hadiths have been transmitted from the Prophet (pbuh) on this subject. The verses, the second of which are Madani, are found in the Makki surahs. The ulema also have consensus on this issue. There are some wisdoms in the fact that the order of revelation is not included in the Qur’an. At the beginning of these, it is to inform that the verses revealed in response to any reason, event or question are not limited to them, that they do not come down to a certain period or tribe, and that their meaning is general. In addition to this, soothing the heart of the Prophet (pbuh) and Muslims’ understanding of the Qur’an in a more comfortable and correct way are also counted. In addition, it is impossible for such a long text to remain in the minds of people for years without leaving any room for error. This indicates that the Qur’an is not human speech.
