The vocabulary used by an author not only reflects his perspective on language, but also serves a function in gaining information about societies. One of the criteria for the artist's success is his ability to use language. The artist's ability to use the language well is related to his ability to reflect the vocabulary of that language in his work. Based on this, studies on vocabulary are of great importance for the artist and the work. Literary works have a great role in revealing the vocabulary of the society. Vocabulary assets in a language appear most accurately through the oral and written cultural products produced in that language.

The purpose of writing this study is to determine the vocabulary (reduplications, idioms, proverbs, formulaic (relationship) words, local sayings, foreign words, terms, slang-vulgar words-swear) in the novel Cemo by Kemal Bilbaşar, one of the important names of Turkish Literature.
