EXPANSION OF MEANING THROUGH ADDITION AND OMISSION IN QURANIC READINGS

Indeed, Allah revealed the Quran as a mercy to His servants, and He sent it down to the heart of our Prophet as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner to the worlds. This sacred book is undoubtedly the greatest blessing that the Bestower can give to His servants and the most valuable book that humans can read in this world, as well as the best speech that can be uttered. The Quran is the speech of Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and within its verses, the eloquence of the rhetoricians is manifested, with no human able to match it. Furthermore, no mind can fully grasp the beauty of its style. Allah, the Azzawajal, revealed this book in many different recitations to serve as a miracle for those who oppose it. It is neither possible to fully understand its meanings nor to compare its style with any other. Even its adversaries have attested to it before its friends. The different recitations of the Quran are considered to provide mercy and ease to people and to alleviate the difficulty for the Ummah. Additionally, these recitations offer various aspects that researchers and educators benefit from in understanding the book. Moreover, they have supported the in-depth exploration of the Arabic language and its extensive scope. These recitations have highlighted some rhetorical aspects of Arabic, demonstrating how meanings are utilized through different rhetorical styles in expression.
