This study aims to comprehensively examine the national academic literature in the field of human resources management (HRM) and evaluate the current status of the field and future research opportunities. The historical development of HRM is discussed in the context of modern trends such as globalization, digital transformation and sustainability, and the theoretical and applied dimensions of the field are detailed. In the study, 180 articles published within the scope of TR Index between 2002-2024 were examined using the bibliometric analysis method, and prominent themes, research methods and most important authors in the literature were identified. The findings showed that areas such as organizational commitment, knowledge management, employee training and green HRM were addressed in a limited way in the HRM literature and that more studies were needed on these issues. At the same time, it was determined that the relationships between HRM and the requirements of the modern business world such as digitalization and Industry 4.0 were not sufficiently examined. The results of the study emphasize that human resources management has a critical role in achieving the strategic goals of businesses and provide guiding suggestions for future research. It has been stated that issues such as environmental sustainability, digital transformation, employee commitment and talent management should be addressed in depth. The findings of the research aim to contribute to the enrichment of academic literature in the field of HRM and the more effective development of national level practices. In this context, it is thought that the study has the potential to fill an important gap at the academic and practical level and provides a comprehensive assessment of the multifaceted structure of HRM.
