Polonyalı sanatçı Magdalena Abakanowicz, döneminin dokuma ve heykel sanatının bir aradalığını mümkün kılarak sanatta dikkat çekici bir konuma yerleşmiştir. The Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz has occupied a remarkable position in art by making the coexistence of weaving and sculpture possible. Although the artist grew up under the oppressive authority of the war conditions, she continued her production for more than half a century by realizing the expressive possibilities of her art in an uninhibited style. Abakanowicz expanded the possibilities of textile and sculpture, incorporating space into his work and embedding the language of the materials he used into the conceptual content of his works. The artist has shaped her works, which are based on the duality of human and nature, together with the existence of the past extending from the personal to the collective. The main theme of the artist's work is the infinite experience of the human journey and its connection with primitive man. While Magdalena Abakanowicz realized her art within the framework of the testimony of her time, she presented her expression in an atmosphere that would evoke uncanny feelings and created an archaic sensory space. From the monumentalized weavings in twentieth-century sculpture to the hybrid body forms she creates, the artist has questioned the relationship of modern man with the primitive and made visible the connection of art and the artist with the nature in which they exist. By showing the layers of meaning in his works, the artist has given the viewer a new field of discovery and a consciousness of existence.
