Âşıklık geleneği birtakım aşamalardan geçerek günümüze kadar gelmiştir. Anadolu sahasında canlı bir şekilde yaşamaya devam eden âşıklık geleneğinin öznesi olan ozanlar, günümüzde toplumsal alandaki işlevselliklerini giderek kaybetmişlerdir. Yaşanan tüm olumsuzluklara karşın gelenek temsilcileri olan ozan ve âşıklar sanatlarını icra ederek âşıklık geleneğini sürdürmeyi başarmışlardır. Bu bağlamda bireysel ve toplumsal temalı şiirleriyle birlikte âşıklık geleneği içerisinde sözlü, yazılı ve elektronik kültür ortamlarında sanatını icra eden Taner Karataş da söz konusu ozanlardan biridir. 

Makalede; Taner Karataş’ın kendisinden mülakat yöntemiyle elde edilen bilgilerden hayat hikâyesi kısaltılarak aktarıldıktan sonra, şiirlerinden örneklerle, şiirlerinde işlediği konuların yoğunluğuna göre kategori analizinin yapılması ve içerik analizi ile birlikte ozanın gelenekteki yerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmamızın kapsamını ozanın yayımlanmış olan beş adet şiir kitabındaki şiirler oluşturmaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden görüşme (mülakat) ve yazılı dokümanların incelenmesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmamızın Taner Karataş’ın hayatı, sanatı ve şiirleri ile ilgili yapılmış müstakil bir makale çalışması olmakla birlikte söz konusu makalenin bundan sonra yapılacak olan bilimsel çalışmalara ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir. Yine bu çalışma ozanın bilim çevrelerince tanınmasına vesile olacaktır.

The tradition of minstrelsy has come down to the present day by going through a number of stages. The bards, who are the subjects of the minstrel tradition that continues to live vividly in the Anatolian area, have gradually lost their functionality in the social sphere today. Despite all the negativities experienced, the bards and minstrels, who are representatives of the tradition, have managed to continue the minstrel tradition by performing their art. In this context, Taner Karataş, who performs his art in oral, written and electronic cultural environments within the minstrel tradition with his individual and social themed poems, is one of the said bards.

In the article; after the life story of Taner Karataş is conveyed in a shortened way from the information obtained from him through interview method, it is aimed to make a category analysis according to the density of the subjects he deals with in his poems with examples from his poems and to determine the poet's place in the tradition with content analysis. The scope of our research consists of the poems in the poet's five published poetry books. Qualitative research methods such as interview (interview) and examination of written documents were used. Although our research is an independent article study conducted on Taner Karataş's life, art and poems, it is thought that the said article will shed light on the scientific studies to be conducted from now on. Again, this study will be a means for the poet to be recognized by scientific circles.
