THE EFFECT OF FAIRY TALES ON THE ABILITY TO WRITE IN THE CONTEXT OF CULTURAL TRANSFER IN TEACHING TURKISH TO FOREIGNERS: EXAMPLE OF ACTIVITY

The deep-rooted history of Turkish, which dates back to the astrs, has included it in a continuous development in many areas and in many directions. Guidebooks have been created for foreign societies/people who learn or want to learn Turkish for different reasons. We accept that the field in question is at a much more advanced level than the past in recent years. Books, academic theses, seminars and various Turkish teaching centres on the subject show a considerable success in the world of our day. Since my field has a certain discipline and language is a living phenomenon, the name that is thrown away day by day is being thrown away. Especially TÖMERs, which can be easily accessed by students who come to our country from different countries to receive university education, are established in a university. At this point, it is not necessary for an individual who prefers to learn Turkish based on the principle of volunteerism to return to his country by learning only Turkish. Therefore, instead of seeing and teaching Turkish as a language alone, it is very important to assimilate the language and culture without separating my connection from each other and to teach in this direction.

Writing skills, which is one of the four basic language skills in Turkish teaching, are considered to be the most difficult skill to gain. The process of gaining writing skills should not be considered as creating paragraphs by using only Turkish grammar rules correctly. Attention should be paid to the transfer of Turkish culture and the presence of elements that reflect Turkish culture in the materials and activities used. Lifestyle, traditions and customs in Turkish culture, eating and drinking habits, daily phrases used, special days-holidays, family and relative relations, etc. many elements are seen in Turkish folk narratives. One of them, the contribution of fairy tales to the writing ability in teaching Turkish as a foreign language is important. In this study, the effect of fairy tale texts on writing skills in teaching Turkish to foreigners was evaluated and an activity example was presented in this context.
